Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Hold an active North Carolina TVI license with Orientation & Mobility (O&M) endorsement
• Demonstrated experience delivering specialized instruction to visually impaired students in K-12 settings
• Proficiency with ECATS or related educational case management systems
• Ability to collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams and adapt instructional strategies
• Passion for empowering students to achieve greater independence and skill development

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative services for students with visual impairments, including instructional adaptations and orientation & mobility training
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and participate in eligibility meetings
• Conduct functional vision assessments and collaborate with school staff to foster accessibility
• Serve as a resource for teachers, administrators, and families regarding best practices in visual impairment education
• Maintain meticulous documentation and actively participate in school-based meetings
