Make a meaningful impact as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher supporting students across multiple non-public school sites. This position places you at the heart of tailored physical education for students requiring adaptive strategies, helping every child engage, participate, and thrive. The role is based onsite and offers the chance to deliver vital APE services until May 2027.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Adaptive Physical Education credential or eligibility to obtain
- Background working with K-12 students in adaptive or special education settings
- Strong understanding of IEP processes, modifications, and specialized assessments
- Excellent communication skills with students, staff, and families
- Flexibility in traveling between school sites in San Dimas, Pasadena, and Chino Hills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct adaptive PE instruction to students at three assigned non-public schools
- Assess motor skills, develop measurable IEP goals, and track student progress
- Coordinate and participate in IEP meetings, ensuring input is comprehensive and student-centered
- Deliver makeup and regularly scheduled APE minutes based on students’ IEP requirements
- Maintain detailed documentation and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams at each site
- Foster an inclusive, supportive environment that encourages physical development and positive self-image
