Job Description

This role offers an opportunity for an experienced commercial electrician to work on large-scale projects based out of Hagerstown, Maryland, including current work at Boonsboro High School. You will install and maintain electrical systems in a variety of commercial environments, performing tasks such as conduit installation, wiring, panel installation, and lighting upgrades, while adhering to safety standards and project specifications.

Responsibilities

• Install, bend, and secure electrical conduit to support commercial electrical systems.
• Pull and terminate electrical wire in accordance with blueprints and electrical codes.
• Install, wire, and troubleshoot electrical panel boxes and related distribution equipment.
• Install LED lighting systems, MC cable, receptacles, and associated electrical devices.
• Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to complete work accurately and efficiently.
• Operate an aerial lift or boom lift when required to complete elevated electrical installations, following all safety procedures.
• Perform electrical work in various commercial settings such as retail fit-outs, warehouses, and new retirement centers.
• Work both indoors and outdoors as required by project scope and schedule.
• Use personal electrical tools and equipment safely and effectively to complete daily tasks.
• Follow direction from supervisors or leads to meet project timelines and quality standards.
• Adhere to all jobsite safety policies, including the use of required personal protective equipment and fall protection.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and assist with material handling as needed.

Essential Skills

• At least 3 years of experience as a commercial electrician.
• Proficiency in bending and installing conduit in commercial environments.
• Ability to install and wire LED lighting, MC cable, receptacles, and panel boxes.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical drawings.
• Hands-on experience with wiring, lighting, and general electrical installation work.
• Capability to operate an aerial lift or boom lift when required for the job.
• Reliable transportation to travel to various job sites.
• Possession of personal electrical hand tools appropriate for commercial electrical work.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with commercial electrical systems.
• Commitment to jobsite safety and proper use of PPE.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Aerial lift certification.
• Experience working in commercial environments such as retail spaces, warehouses, and retirement centers.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team under the direction of a lead.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow project specifications and timelines.

Work Environment

You will work on commercial projects in settings such as retail fit-outs, warehouses, and new retirement centers. Assignments include both indoor and outdoor work, depending on project needs. Current projects are expected to run through September or October, with the potential to move into a permanent position. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The role may require operating aerial lifts and working at heights, using harnesses and fall protection. The dress code includes jeans, steel-toe footwear, T-shirt, high-visibility apparel, hard hat, and harness, in line with standard construction site safety requirements.

This is a Contract position based out of Hagerstown, MD.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Hagerstown,MD.
