Job Description
ROLE - SPECIALTY

Requirements
- Licensure: RN with valid compact or state license in hand at time of submission
- Minimum years experience: 2 years of Med/Surg experience (acute-care experience must be current)
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
- Preferred certification: ONS

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric inpatients in a hematology/oncology unit.
- Administer chemotherapy and blood products, ensuring safe handling and monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Manage IV therapy, including starting IVs, administering IV medications, and central line management.
- Monitor patients for oncologic emergencies and implement infection prevention protocols.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams to support patient care.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and care strategies.

Compliance / Notes
- Orientation: 72 hours total, with the first week consisting of day shifts and the second week including on-unit training with a preceptor.
- Fingerprinting required upon booking.
- COVID-19 vaccine not required; Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only).
