As a Fleet Manager , you will lead fleet operations supporting the vehicle lifecycle in the region. This includes leading the Fleet Operations team, managing relationships with vendors and supply chain teams, and ensuring vehicles are safe, clean, and able to deliver an exceptional experience for our members. This role involves adjusting fleet levels to meet demand, overseeing upkeep, repair processes, maintenance of vehicles, and working toward key KPIs for this function. What You’ll Do Partner with Operations leadership on strategic goals and changing initiatives; lead local teams to improve overall member satisfaction (NPS) and other business goals. Manage the process of in-fleeting and de-fleeting vehicles from start to finish. Maintain fleet costs in accordance with the market budget. Negotiate and manage vendor service contracts and relationships to ensure vehicles are properly maintained, repaired and cleaned to Zipcar’s high standard. Oversee payment for third party vendors, and ensure invoices are coded appropriately via ORACLE. Collaborate with Zipcar functional teams to support performance and process improvement. Hire, train, and develop fleet management staff including performance management, succession planning, goal setting, development and performance reviews input. Coordinate the repair life cycle of vehicles from when repair is required to when they return to service. This includes working with ABG supply chain partners, third party maintenance vendors, third party shuttling companies, towing vendors, and impound recovery facilities. Update Zipcar’s platform (work management system) daily with ETA’s of repair completion, notes on the repair process, and close out the ticket loop once complete. Use data to make informed decisions on repairs and vehicle lifecycle on a daily basis. What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related field required. 4–5 years of operations management or Fleet management experience (preferably in rental car / car share). Prior experience working in operations for a complex fleet organization. Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, analyze information effectively, while maintaining confidentiality. Demonstrated ability to identify staffing needs and hire key employees. Experience tracking the success of operational improvement programs with a focus on sustainable, organization-wide improvements. Valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record (per company standards). The annual starting salary for this position is between $65,000 to $75,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
