Mental Health Clinician II

Overview Rutgers University, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Mental Health Clinician II for the Eric B. Chandler Health Center at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. The clinician will provide behavioral health consultation within a team‑based model to children, adolescents, adults, and families to improve psychosocial functioning. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of behavioral health clients. Develop and implement effective treatment plans and assist clients in successfully achieving goals. Evaluate crisis situations and apply appropriate interventions. Participate in team and other meetings that support the integrated health care model to provide comprehensive care. Assist in the detection of at‑risk patients and develop plans to prevent further psychological or physical deterioration. Collaborate with the primary care team to develop care management processes such as guidelines, disease management techniques, case management, and patient education to improve self‑management of chronic disease. Provide assessment, consultation, and brief intervention for psychological/psychiatric problems and/or disorders. Qualifications Master’s Degree in a mental health discipline plus two (2) years of post‑master’s experience in the mental health field. Independent license to practice as required by New Jersey state laws governing the discipline (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LCADC, Licensed Psychologist). Applicants with a degree in Social Work must have an active New Jersey certification/licensure. Excellent working knowledge of behavioral medicine and evidence‑based treatments for medical and mental health conditions. Ability to conduct brief patient contacts and make quick, accurate clinical assessments of mental and behavioral conditions. Good knowledge of psychopharmacology. Ability to design and implement clinical pathways and protocols for treatment of selected chronic conditions. Salary Details Minimum Salary: $71,162 Mid Range Salary: $85,428 Maximum Salary: $101,456 Position Information Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week, day shift. Fully on‑site work arrangement required.
