CNC Machinist – Night Shift Openings

Location: Valencia, CA
Company: Aerospace Manufacture
Pay Range: $28.00 – $35.00 per hour
Shift: Night Shift, Monday through Friday, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Company Overview

Aerospace company manufactures machined parts and assemblies for the commercial and military aerospace industries. The company produces structural components, caps, panels, bulkheads, fittings, longerons, spars, chords, wing ribs, thrust reversers, structural machined parts, manufacturing tooling, and stretch form blocks.

Position Summary

Company is seeking an experienced  CNC Machinist for the night and day shift. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC and conventional machining equipment to produce complex aerospace components.

Gantry machining experience is highly preferred.

The ideal candidate will have strong CNC machining experience, the ability to work with tight tolerances, and a solid understanding of aerospace manufacturing requirements. This position also requires the ability to assist, train, and mentor lower-level machinists as needed.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Set up and operate 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC machines.
• Operate CNC Mills, gantry machines, and other site-specific machine platforms.
• Produce complex aerospace parts while maintaining quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work instructions, and GD&T requirements.
• Perform machine setups, tooling verification, program checks, and first-piece inspections.
• Troubleshoot machining issues independently and make necessary adjustments.
• Edit CNC programs as needed to improve quality, efficiency, and machine performance.
• Use precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMM equipment.
• Design, manufacture, and validate tooling for production needs.
• Support cross-training across multiple machine platforms.
• Mentor and assist lower-level machinists with setup, troubleshooting, and machining best practices.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and document repairs, adjustments, or issues as required.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and tooling to modify or assemble components as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies.
• Support lean manufacturing efforts to reduce waste and improve workflow.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong experience setting up and operating CNC mills, equipment.
• Ability to machine complex parts to tight tolerances.
• Advanced understanding of CNC machining, tooling, setup, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications.
• Experience with CNC program editing and basic troubleshooting.
• Intermediate CAD/CAM knowledge preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments accurately.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Preferred Experience

• 5+ years of machinist experience preferred.
• Gantry machining experience highly preferred.
• Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience mentoring or training other machinists preferred.
• Experience with EDM or complex machining processes is a plus.
• Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar design review tools is preferred.

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
