Criminal Defense Attorney

Portner & Shure is one of the leading criminal defense firms in Virginia. We are seeking a leading associate attorney to handle criminal cases for our Southern Virginia practice. Must be able to work on multiple cases at different stages of the process. Responsibilities Represent clients in the General District Court / Circuit Court Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients Qualification Experience in criminal defense Advise clients about their legal rights and options Conduct legal research and devise an effective strategy to defend the client(s) in court Gather evidence in support of the case Present evidence in court Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to build rapport with clients Must be licensed in Virginia Speak Spanish a plus but not requir ed Qualifications and Ski lls Must be proficient with handling a high volumes of cases Must be an active member and in good standing with the Virginia bar Must have a proven ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
