You'll use your field experience to help technicians strengthen their diagnostic abilities, communication skills, workmanship, and overall performance.This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll remain connected to the field while playing an important role in developing the next generation of HVAC professionals.What Horne Offers$26.00-$28.00 per hour base compensationExpected annual earnings of $60,000-$110,000+Trainer bonuses and quarterly performance incentivesMonday-Friday scheduleLimited after-hours responsibilitiesMedical, dental, vision, life, and supplemental insurancePaid holidays plus your birthday offPaid time off beginning during your first year401(k) with company matching contributionsContinued HVAC technical educationLeadership development opportunitiesEmployee appreciation events and company celebrationsYear-round employmentCareer path into service and operations leadershipYour RoleYour focus will be helping technicians become stronger and more confident HVAC professionals while supporting consistent service standards across the department.You'll:Coach technicians during field ride-alongs and customer appointmentsEvaluate diagnostic skills, technical knowledge, and service performanceHelp technicians strengthen HVAC troubleshooting techniquesProvide practical guidance when technicians encounter challenging service callsTrain team members on proper service procedures and technical standardsDevelop technicians' customer communication and professionalismReview completed calls and provide actionable coachingAssist with technical meetings and structured training sessionsTrack employee development and identify areas requiring additional trainingPartner with service leadership to improve technician performance and consistencyServe as an experienced technical resource for the service teamWhat We're Looking ForExtensive residential or light commercial HVAC service experienceAdvanced HVAC diagnostic and troubleshooting knowledgeEPA 608 Type II or Universal Certification requiredStrong ability to explain technical concepts to developing techniciansLeadership skills and a genuine interest in coaching othersProfessional communication and interpersonal abilitiesStrong organization and documentation skillsAbility to provide constructive feedback and hold team members accountableCommitment to continued technical and leadership developmentAbility to complete required Indoor Air Quality and SBE trainingExperience as a Lead HVAC Technician, Field Supervisor, Technical Trainer, Service Mentor, or similar leadership position is preferred but not required for a highly experienced technician with the right leadership abilities.Experience with ServiceTitan or similar field service software is also beneficial.Grow From Technician to HVAC LeaderHorne Heating and Air Conditioning has served the Charlotte area since 1983.
