Job Summary

The Student Assistant will support Blue Tie Catering as a Food Service Associate on the Statesboro Campus beginning Summer 2026. This role is an essential part of the catering team, contributing to a smooth catering experience for both the internal and external clients.

Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.

Responsibilities

• Prepares fresh food items and other prep tasks as needed
• Sets up and breaks down event spaces as needed
• Provides customer service functions such as interacting with clients
• Provides exceptional support functions for the Blue Tie Catering team such as serving food
• Keeps kitchen and event space areas neat and clean, including organizing, sweeping, mopping floors and any other cleaning tasks
• Works with various kitchen equipment
• Stocks Inventory
• Empties trash containers

Shift Specifics

• Up to 25 hours per week
• Flexible with schedule of availability
• Shifts available Sunday - Saturday (event based)

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

• Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Proposed Salary

$10.00 per hour

This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
