Key Responsibilities

• Provide care for both inpatient and outpatient patients, conducting thorough evaluations and delivering individualized treatment plans in accordance with established standards of physical therapy practice.
• Effectively collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists to assess patients' needs and develop comprehensive goals for their rehabilitation.
• Perform detailed documentation of each patient interaction within the electronic medical record system to maintain accurate records and facilitate quality care.
• Select appropriate assessment tools and tests to monitor patient progress, setting realistic and achievable therapy goals tailored to individual capabilities.
• Execute treatment plans utilizing a variety of methodologies, including trigger point therapy techniques and adaptive exercises, to restore function and mobility.
• Conduct screenings for conditions such as lymphedema and fall risks to determine the need for additional rehabilitation services.
• Participate in departmental education efforts by contributing to presentations and supervising students/interns, which can enhance your professional development and advancement within the organization.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The patients you will serve include individuals recovering from surgery, injuries, or medical conditions affecting their physical capabilities. This role will involve working with a diverse range of clients, including those with cognitive impairments, psychosocial challenges, and developmental disabilities. As a physical therapist, your goal will be to restore and maintain function, prevent disability, and support these individuals in achieving their highest level of independence.

Qualifications

• Valid Florida Physical Therapy License is mandatory.
• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy is required, with a Master's or Doctorate degree preferred.
• A minimum of one year of clinical experience in an acute care hospital environment.
• Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology.
• Proficiency in trigger point therapy techniques is essential.
• Experience and comfort working with pediatric patients are highly valued.
• Familiarity with hospital medicine practices and the ability to navigate both clinic and hospital settings seamlessly.
• Competence in delivering meaningful inpatient care to ensure optimal recovery outcomes.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a rehabilitation setting will be advantageous.
• Previous involvement in professional development activities, including the presentation of research or clinical findings.
