Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Orthopedic Focus)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (3x12, 36 or 48 hours per week available) | Shift Hours: 18:45–07:15 | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a fast-paced orthopedic, neuro spine, med-surg, and post-surgical unit with an average daily census of 37 patients
• Manage pain effectively for orthopedic and spine patients, staying proactive with pain management protocols
• Perform IV starts and telemetry monitoring as part of routine patient care
• Maintain patient ratios of 5–6:1, with the possibility of flexing up to 7:1 in extreme circumstances
• Float to other med-surg units within the facility as needed to meet staffing and census demands
• Work every other weekend, with a requirement to make up any missed weekend shifts

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with demonstrated orthopedic experience required
• Active RN license in NC or a Compact stateCurrent BCLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Proficiency with IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Epic EMR experience required for first-time travelers

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Current ACLS certification
• Charge nurse experience
• Level I Trauma experience
