Adventureland Park - AV/Sound Supervisor

Overview The Audio-Visual (AV) Supervisor at Adventureland Park is responsible for supervising the AV and sound team, ensuring efficient operations to deliver a positive guest experience. This role reports directly to the Audio-Visual Manager. Responsibilities Supervise daily operations of the Audio Visual/Sound team and any other assigned departments. Lead by example, embodying Adventureland's core values. Act as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned hosts. Become knowledgeable of essential duties of all AV/Sound positions and backfill when needed. Participate in all aspects of supervision, including hiring, orientation, training, performance coaching, and discipline. Ensure required meal and other breaks are given in accordance with Iowa law. Assist with team scheduling and timekeeping. Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and professional audio equipment. Operate audio and lighting mixers during live performances. Prepare and maintain professional video display systems for large-group presentations. Maintain and operate surveillance systems, research incidents as necessary. Provide support for all aspects of resort operations, including Theme Park, Waterpark, Animal Park, Hotel, Restaurant, and/or Campgrounds. Develop rapport with department staff and entertainers. Assist in planning, preparing, and executing Phantom Fall Fest and other hosted events. Perform other duties assigned by leadership. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; preferred college degree or technical training in Electrical Engineering, Sound Engineering, Sound Technician, Music Production, Communications Technology, Radio and Television Broadcasting, or related discipline. At least 2 years of prior AV/Sound experience. Excellent computer proficiency and mechanical aptitude. Knowledge of installation, configuration, and maintenance of AV systems and equipment. Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; bilingual skills are a plus. Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Iowa Child Labor Laws. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during operating season and event set-up. Must possess a valid driver's license and a good driving record. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task in a fast-pace environment. Proficiency with soldering techniques is highly desired. Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, bend, climb, or squat for long periods. Ability to remain sedentary for extended periods while using a computer. Ability to walk long distances throughout the park. Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in confined spaces or above ground level, on scaffolds, ladders, and manlifts. Consistent use of hands to grasp, control, move objects or tools. Good color discrimination and ability to see details far away. Working Conditions Work both in an office setting and outdoor park environment. Frequent interruptions require reprioritization of activities. Exposure to variable outdoor temperatures, heat, cold, sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, and other weather conditions. Exposure to repetitive motion, high noise levels, flashing lights, vibrations, dust, and chemicals. Working at significant heights greater than 100 feet. Benefits Flexible schedule.
