We run a lean, tech-forward office and are always looking for better, faster ways to work.About the RoleWe're looking for a hands-on Staff Accountant to own day-to-day accounting for both companies and to serve as the office's go-to person for our business technology. Reporting to the Controller, you'll keep the books accurate and current, manage company devices and credit cards, and help us improve how we work through better use of our software. This role suits someone who learns new tools quickly, finds answers on their own, and likes making processes more efficient.ResponsibilitiesAccountingProcess accounts payable in QuickBooks Online, including entering, coding, and paying vendor bills and maintaining vendor records and W-9sManage accounts receivable: invoicing, recording deposits, and following up on collectionsReconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts monthlyCode and review Ramp card transactions and enforce receipt complianceCode costs to jobs accurately to support job costingAssist with month-end close, journal entries, sales tax filings, and year-end 1099sTrack subcontractor certificates of insurance, lien waivers, and other compliance documentsSystems & Office AdministrationAdminister company phones, tablets, and other devices, including setup, carrier accounts, and onboarding and offboardingIssue and manage Ramp cards, spending limits, and user accessMaintain trackers and workflows in SmartsheetTroubleshoot software questions and research solutions on your own before escalatingIdentify and build process improvements such as automations, integrations, templates, and reportsQualifications2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience2+ years of hands-on QuickBooks Online experience (required)Construction or job-costing experienceStrong Excel and/or Google Sheets skillsComfortable learning new cloud-based software quickly and independentlyHighly organized, accurate, and discreet with confidential informationResourceful: you research answers and solve problems without needing step-by-step xhyhwjd directionAssociate's or bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field preferred; equivalent experience consideredMust complete a QuickBooks Online skills assessment to be consideredNice to HaveExperience with Ramp, , Smartsheet, or similar platformsExperience with automation tools (Zapier, etc.), APIs, scripting, or AI toolsSchedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, in person at our Patterson, NY officeBenefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) with company match; paid time offBenefits:Before applying for this role, please read the following information about this opportunity found below.401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceWork Location: In person
