Director, Compensation

For our client, we are seeking a Director, Compensation to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will lead compensation strategy and program delivery across the organization, partnering closely with senior executives and key business leaders. The Director will oversee incentive plan design, governance, and compensation cycle execution while ensuring alignment with broader Total Rewards objectives. This position also carries responsibility for managing risk, strengthening internal controls, and building a high-performing, inclusive compensation team. Location: McLean, VA - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $230,400 - $263,000 annually Responsibilities Lead and develop a team of compensation professionals to support business strategy and program delivery Foster an inclusive culture by attracting, developing, and supporting compensation talent Partner with senior executives to prepare materials and influence key outcomes Manage strategic compensation projects and ensure alignment with Total Rewards goals Oversee line-of-business incentive plans, including design and governance Guide leaders through mid-year and year-end compensation cycles while maintaining internal controls Proactively identify and manage risks using sound business judgment Qualifications Bachelor's degree or military experience 7 years of experience in compensation, finance, or human resources 3 years of experience in people leadership Master's degree in Accounting, Statistics, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Human Resources preferred Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred Experience leading compensation strategies at all levels, including C-suite preferred Experience in the financial services or tech industry preferred Benefits Comprehensive health benefits Financial wellness programs Incentive compensation opportunities including cash bonuses and long-term incentives Inclusive workplace culture Support for professional development and career growth Our client is an equal opportunity employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr Ladders
