Treatment Coordinator

FT, M-F| Reno, NV | This is an in-office position.

We are an elite oral surgery practice that is committed to exceptional care for our patients and first-class service to our referring doctors. We are growing and seeking a confident, compassionate, and detail-oriented Treatment Coordinator to play a key role in connecting our clinical expertise with an outstanding patient experience. In this position, you'll serve as a trusted resource for patients-helping them understand their treatment plans, guiding them through financial options, and ensuring every interaction is handled with professionalism and care. Previous oral surgery experience is a plus but not required.

Role and Responsibilities

• Updates and maintains patient insurance information.
• Maintains doctor schedule to ensure efficient use of the doctor's time.
• Partners with clinical team to ensure excellent patient experience.
• Adheres to deadlines and prioritize work against the patient schedule.
• Collects payments from patients in an effective and professional manner.
• Understands doctor treatment recommendations and develops treatment plans from diagnosis.
• Effectively communicates treatment options and associated costs to the patient.
• Maintains confidentiality of all information in accordance with HIPAA.
• Calculate patient estimates, including insurance coverage, deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs
• Verify dental and medical insurance benefits prior to treatment
• Submit and follow up on insurance claims, including medical cross-coding for applicable oral surgery procedures
• Manage accounts receivable, including aging reports and patient balance follow-up
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Resolve insurance discrepancies, denials, and appeals
• Coordinate with front desk and clinical staff to ensure accurate treatment and billing codes

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of customer service experience required.
• Medical or dental experience preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in dental or medical financial coordination, treatment presentation, or insurance billing (oral surgery or dental specialty experience strongly preferred)
• Working knowledge of dental and medical insurance, including CDT and CPT coding
• Experience with practice management software (e.g., Dolphin, Dentrix, Open Dental, or similar)
• Strong math and organizational skills with high attention to detail
