Lead Teacher

Gallatin River Childcare is seeking candidates for a Lead Teacher position. The role is available as full‑time year‑round or part‑time in Big Sky, Montana. Purpose To provide direct care in a safe and enriching environment to children. Major Responsibilities Model and teach developmentally appropriate behavior and interactions between children and adults. Provide daily care that meets the needs of every child. Follow day‑to‑day classroom schedules, routines, and activities. Guide Assistant Teachers in daily tasks. Help children reach developmental milestones through a Waldorf style of education. Maintain a clean, organized, and tidy space. Perform additional cleaning duties as needed. Communicate with families through daily updates. Occasionally prepare and serve meals to children, including baby foods and bottle preparation. Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all children. Plan and execute Waldorf‑Inspired curriculum. Schedule and meet with parents to discuss child development. Track and assess each child’s progress. Essential Job Functions Clear understanding of early childhood development. Other Duties and Responsibilities Perform duties in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established policies and service standards. Meet departmental productivity, organization, punctuality/attendance, and consistency standards. Maintain a positive and respectful attitude. Treat members, guests, vendors, customers, parents, children, and co‑workers with professionalism and respect. Maintain privacy of members and families. Maintain a clean and neat appearance. Communicate regularly and effectively with all employees, supervisors, managers, and directors. Work safely and deliver high‑quality work. Project a favorable image of Gallatin River Childcare and Yellowstone Club to the community. Perform other duties as assigned. Work flexible hours, including evenings and holidays; long hours may be required. Montana State Requirements Meet immunization requirements pursuant to ARM 37.95.184. Have appropriate background checks pursuant to ARM 37.95.161. Sign a health attestation. Be at least 18 years old. Complete facility overview on‑the‑job training. Be current on the ECP Practitioner Registry. Have current certification for infant, child, and adult CPR, infant choking response, and pediatric first aid (CPR certification must be completed in a hands‑on setting or within 30 days of hire). Successfully complete required early childhood teacher orientation as indicated in 37.95.163. Have the following training and experience:

• Two years in an early childhood program such as a licensed or registered childcare facility, or Head Start, plus 32 hours of ECP training, OR
• Level 2 or higher on the ECP Practitioners Registry.

Experience and Education Preferred 3 years experience in a childcare setting. ECE or related field preferred. Certificates & Licenses Current CPR/First Aid certification or able to obtain within 30 days of hire. Current on the MTECP Registry. Computer, Language, Math, and Reasoning Skills

• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and Teams, and ability to navigate communication applications on a phone or other device.
• Ability to speak clearly, effectively, and professionally with parents, children, and co‑workers, and to write legibly and clearly.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Ability to identify and solve basic problems and recognize when to seek managerial assistance.

Work Environment and Physical Demands Work is primarily performed in a climate‑controlled environment but may involve outdoor activities in safe weather conditions. Physical tasks include walking, handling hands and arms, and occasionally lifting a child up to 50 pounds.
