Capital Equipment Sales Representative – Waste & Recycling

Location: Remote —  Northeast
Employment Type: Full-time
Travel: Approximately 40–50%
Reports To: Vice President of Sales and Marketing

We are recruiting a results-driven Capital Equipment Sales Representative to grow regional revenue, expand market share, and build customer relationships throughout the waste, recycling, scrap, and related industrial markets.

This opportunity is ideal for a self-motivated sales professional with capital-equipment or waste-industry experience who can develop new business while managing and growing existing accounts.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a regional sales strategy to increase revenue and market share.
• Manage and grow a portfolio of existing customer accounts.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities throughout the assigned territory.
• Present, promote, and sell capital-equipment solutions to prospective and existing customers.
• Generate leads through cold calling, networking, referrals, social selling, and other outreach methods.
• Conduct market research to identify prospective customers, market trends, pricing activity, and emerging opportunities.
• Develop lasting customer relationships by providing responsive service and post-sale support.
• Answer customer questions regarding product specifications, pricing, availability, and delivery.
• Negotiate contracts and sales terms to secure agreements and close business.
• Maintain accurate records of sales activity and customer interactions within the CRM.
• Use CRM data and sales analytics to guide territory and account-development strategies.
• Coordinate delivery expectations with customers, operations, production, and logistics teams.
• Communicate customer feedback and product-improvement opportunities to engineering and manufacturing.
• Monitor competitors and share relevant market intelligence with company leadership.
• Align customer expectations with production capabilities, delivery schedules, and product-quality standards.

Qualifications

• Previous capital-equipment sales experience or experience selling within the waste, recycling, or related industrial markets.
• Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding sales quotas.
• Strong understanding of consultative selling, lead generation, account development, and closing strategies.
• Ability to manage existing accounts while actively developing new business.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to quickly establish credibility and rapport with customers.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a geographically dispersed territory.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 40–50%.
• Professional and customer-focused approach when communicating with customers, vendors, office personnel, and manufacturing employees.
• Basic accounting or bookkeeping knowledge.
• Business-school or college education, relevant sales experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Salesforce.
• Existing industry relationships within waste, recycling, scrap, or related equipment markets.
• Experience coordinating with manufacturing, engineering, operations, and logistics teams.
• Familiarity with capital-equipment pricing, specifications, contracts, and delivery processes.

Work Environment

• Remote position covering the Northeast.
• Frequent regional customer travel is required.
• Occasional work in manufacturing or shop environments may require appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses.
