Job Details Specialty: Registered Respiratory Therapist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Position Description We're looking for a Pediatric Registered Respiratory Therapist (Peds-RRT) for an immediate travel position opening in Boston, MA. The right Peds-RRT must have 1 year of recent acute care experience. Read below for additional requirements. Responsibilities As a Peds-RRT, you will provide direct patient care to patients in various clinical areas, including evaluations and treatments according to procedural guidelines. Administer a variety of simple and complex respiratory and cardiology modalities. Maintain appropriate patient records and documentation. Clean, disinfect, assemble, calibrate, and maintain respiratory and cardiology equipment and accessories. Evaluate equipment for proper and safe function. Report malfunctions to director. Perform arterial puncture and analyze sample according to procedure guidelines. Interact with co‑workers, nurses, physicians, and other hospital personnel to optimize continuum of care for patient being treated. Respond to emergent situations that could require respiratory support. Physical Requirements Peds-RRTs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, lean or stoop without difficulty, and easily lift 20 pounds. Movement or lifting of patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds at times. Must have specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Qualifications Must have 1 year of experience. Must have NBRC-RRT, BLS, and ACLS. PALS and NRP may be required in some areas.
