Behavioral Aide – School-Based Position

Pay: $20–$25/hour Schedule: Monday–Friday, School Hours Positions: Full-Time & Part-Time

About the Role

As a Behavioral Aide, you will provide one-on-one and classroom support to students with behavioral, social-emotional, developmental, and academic needs. You’ll help create a safe, structured, and encouraging learning environment while supporting students throughout their school day.

What You’ll Do

• Support students throughout the school day based on their behavioral and educational plans

• Assist with developing social, behavioral, communication, and daily living skills

• Implement behavior intervention strategies under school staff direction

• Assist kiddos with lunch breaks, bathroom breaks, and diaper changes

• Use positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques

• Collaborate with teachers, special education teams, and related service providers

• Observe, monitor, and document student behavior and progress

• Help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment

• Uphold Amergis values and contribute positively to school culture

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED

• At least 18 years of age

• CPR/BLS certification

• Ability to pass all required background checks

• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

• Reliable transportation

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, and assist students throughout the school day

• Ability to lift at least 30 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• Two (2) years of pediatric experience

• Background in education, behavioral health, childcare, coaching, mentoring, or caregiving

• TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray

• CPI certification

• RBT certification

• Bilingual or ASL experience
