Job Details Division: Texas Port Recycling LLC Location: Houston, TX, United States Basic Job Functions Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Responsible for obtaining profitable results for the region by developing the buying team through motivation, counseling, skills development, and market knowledge. Participate in the recruiting, hiring, and training efforts to grow the company buying staff. Assist in the development of regional strategies and business plan covering procurement of scrap metals, revenues and expense control. Meet agreed upon targets and promote the organization at the retail, industrial and business‑to‑business levels. Manage the purchasing administration functions and performance reporting, helping to streamline processes wherever possible. Ensure local, state and federal compliance of all required recycling regulations. Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure receipt of quality material, consistent tonnage, and credibility in the company. Advise senior management on maximizing business relationships and improving customer service. Clearly communicate and drive company‑wide initiatives and strategies. Forecast weekly, monthly, and annual volumes and margins for the region. Adjust purchase pricing through monitoring of competition and market conditions to meet forecast. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently or with a team. Willingness to travel and relocate to other regions in the United States. Proven prior management of regional procurement or sales team preferred.
