Strategic Supply Chain Manager, Lawn & Garden + Tools Supply Chain Team

Amazon is looking for a Supply Chain Manager II to own inventory sourcing strategies and end-to-end supply chain processes for one of our most highly seasonal retail categories. In this role, you will develop operational strategies for strategic vendor cohorts, use data and AI-powered tools to improve how we manage seasonal selection, and partner directly with retail vendors to reinvent their supply chain performance. You will balance tactical execution with strategic planning, designing inventory solutions that address competing priorities while identifying cost savings and reducing waste. Your work will have leadership visibility, and you will regularly present findings and recommendations to Category leaders. If you are a curious, analytical problem-solver who enjoys turning ambiguity into actionable plans, we want to hear from you.Key job responsibilities- Identify and deliver end-to-end supply chain improvement opportunities across large cohorts of Lawn & Garden vendors, developing inventory sourcing strategies that meet cost targets and customer availability goals.- Track and own category metrics such as out-of-stock rate, lead time, and confirmation rate, and present insights and trends to Category Leadership through weekly and monthly business reviews.- Define operational strategy for select vendors, making trade-offs between suppliers, cost structures, and service levels to optimize profitability and contribute to business growth planning.- Collaborate with vendor management and product managers on initiatives to improve cost structure, profitability, and supply chain efficiency across the Lawn & Garden business.- Build trusted relationships with retail vendors and partner on programs to improve inventory health, reduce costs, and deliver a great experience for Amazon customers.A day in the lifeYou might start your morning reviewing inventory health dashboards and flagging supply risks across your vendor cohort, then join a working session with Category Management to align on operational strategy for an upcoming seasonal peak. Mid-morning, you could be auditing recent inventory buys to ensure purchase orders are tracking to plan, or working with product managers to refine AI-powered workflows that surface out-of-stock trends. After lunch, you might hop on a call with a retail vendor to walk through their performance data and collaborate on lead-time reductions. Later, you could shift to preparing insights and risk mitigation plans for a Leadership review.About the teamOur team owns supply chain strategy and sourcing execution for Amazon's Lawn & Garden and Tools business, a highly seasonal category where getting inventory timing right has an outsized impact on the customer experience. We work with some of Amazon's most strategic retail vendors, and our results carry high visibility with senior leadership. Right now, we are investing in better automation for seasonal decision-making, partnering with vendors to reinvent their supply chains, and improving the input metrics that move the needle for our business.We are a collaborative group of supply chain and product managers who partner closely with retail vendors, internal category teams, and operations partners. You will gain hands-on experience with P&L management, vendor supply chain operations, and AI-based automation, building skills that open doors to broader roles across Amazon.Basic qualifications- Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of professional or military experience- 4+ years of supply chain, inventory management or project management experience- 3+ years of program or project management experience- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel (macros, pivots, lookups) at an advanced level- Experience in data analysis and leveraging analytics to make decisions- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to drive improvementsPreferred qualification - Knowledge of the principles of statistical inventory control- Experience with SQL- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules- Experience coordinating cross-functional inputs, meeting deadlines, and effectively managing competing priorities- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment- Master's degree in business, engineering, operations, supply chain, transportation logistics- Usage of generative AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency, with a willingness to learn effective prompting and evaluation practices.Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
