This position serves as a bridge between laboratory science and computational analysis, supporting interpretation of sequencing and molecular data to inform public health decision-making.Compensation & Benefits: Pay commensurate with experience. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.Bioinformatics Support II – Molecular Virology & Surveillance Responsibilities Include:Scientific & Analytical Support Interpret sequencing and molecular data (PCR, dPCR, metagenomics)Provide biological context to genomic surveillance outputsIdentify variants, mutations, and signals of public health relevanceFamiliarity with sequencing outputs (e.g., variant calls, lineage assignments, coverage metrics)Collaboration & Coordination Partner with laboratory teams and bioinformaticiansSupport coordination with external labs and partnersTranslate lab outputs into actionable insightsExperience working with cross-functional teams in public health or research environmentsProgram Support Contribute to reports, briefings, and technical documentationSupport pilot studies and surveillance enhancementsBioinformatics Support II – Molecular Virology & Surveillance Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:Master's or PhD in Bioinformatics, Microbiology, or related fieldExperience with sequencing workflows and molecular dataFamiliarity with environmental or wastewater datasetsStrong communication and analytical skillsAbility to work independently and resolve problems without constant supervisionExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Must pass the pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee FederalCherokee Nation Integrated Health (CNIH) is a part of Cherokee Federal – the division of tribally owned federal contracting companies owned by Cherokee Nation Businesses.
