About the Role

As an Outpatient Counselor, you'll provide personalized, evidence-based behavioral health services to individuals and families seeking support. You'll conduct comprehensive assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide therapeutic interventions that help clients navigate challenges, build on their strengths, and achieve meaningful progress. In this role, you'll work as part of a collaborative clinical team to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care tailored to each client's unique needs and goals. You'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the people we serve while continuing to grow your clinical skills and expertise.

What You'll Do
  • Clinical Counseling: Provide individual and group counseling using evidence-based therapeutic approaches to address a range of mental health needs. Build strong therapeutic relationships that support clients' emotional well-being, growth, and recovery.
  • Assessment & Treatment Planning: Complete comprehensive assessments to understand clients' histories, strengths, needs, and goals. Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans based on client progress and changing needs.
  • Crisis Intervention & Prevention: Provide crisis intervention and support during emergency situations, prioritizing client safety. Help clients develop crisis prevention plans, coping strategies, and skills to manage challenging situations.
  • Psychoeducation & Resource Navigation: Provide education on mental health, coping strategies, and available resources. Support clients in accessing community services related to housing, employment, social support, and other needs.
  • Family Collaboration: Engage families and support systems, when appropriate, through family counseling, education, and resources that strengthen the client's support network and treatment outcomes.
  • Documentation & Performance Standards: Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client records, including progress notes, assessments, and treatment plans. Meet a minimum of 70% client productivity (direct service hours) and ensure documentation complies with applicable legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with behavioral health professionals, healthcare providers, social service agencies, and other partners to provide coordinated, comprehensive care. Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, families, and members of the care team.
  • Community Engagement: Build relationships with community organizations and partners to increase awareness of behavioral health services, reduce stigma, and connect clients with additional resources and support.
  • Continuity of Care: Support smooth transitions between levels of care by developing continuity of care plans and coordinating with inpatient facilities, community providers, and other members of the client's care team.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training, professional development, and continuing education to maintain clinical knowledge and stay current with evidence-based practices. Pursue additional certifications or licensure as required by the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What We Offer
  • Clinical Supervision & Support: Receive ongoing supervision and support as you continue developing your clinical skills
  • Full Operational Support: Marketing, billing, and collections support so you can focus on providing exceptional patient care
  • Collaborative Culture: Join a team centered on engagement, growth, accountability, and high standards
  • Meaningful Work: Make a direct impact on patients, families, and the Vancouver community
Benefits
  • 14 Paid Holidays: 12 company-paid holidays plus 2 floating holidays each year
  • Generous PTO: Earn up to 2 weeks of paid time off during your first year, based on hours worked
  • Paid Sick Leave: Earn up to 6.5 days of paid sick leave, based on hours worked
  • Retirement Benefits: Participate in a retirement plan featuring a competitive employer match
  • Comprehensive Health Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision coverage options
