Data breaches threaten the security of financial, customer, employee and other proprietary data, and at any time, a cyber‑attack can disrupt a company’s operations. What You’ll Be Doing Managing assigned complex Cyber and Technology claims across multiple jurisdictions, setting the case strategy in partnership with the Cyber Practice Leader and Claims Management, and taking all available steps to achieve the optimal outcome. Independently managing your caseload within approved authority, including initial claim evaluation, coverage analysis pursuant to AXA XL policies and underlying policies, preparation of written coverage determination, and ongoing evaluation of liability, damages and reserves. Litigation management of Cyber and Technology Errors and Omissions liability claims, including retention of counsel, strategy planning, alternative dispute resolution, negotiations and trial management. Developing and maintaining corporate client relationships by working closely with client in‑house counsel to establish effective risk‑management strategies on both a case basis and overall strategic planning. Maintaining expertise with products, services, priorities and target markets to more effectively enable clients to uncover hidden cyber risks. Working with underwriters on the creation and development of insurance contracts, products and services. Producing internal reporting and ensuring reserves are set according to best‑practice guidelines. Coordinating and managing communication with internal colleagues and key external stakeholders (clients, brokers, reinsurers, vendors, etc.) to provide the highest level of customer service. Working in collaboration with specialists (computer forensics, data‑breach notification & call‑center services, credit & ID monitoring, public relations and expert legal counsel) for responsive claims management. Identifying, monitoring, presenting and reporting on emerging liability and coverage trends. Handling calls on the AXA XL Data Breach Hotline. You will report to the Claims Manager, Cyber. What You Will Bring Bachelor’s Degree and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) required. Advanced legal experience in the Insurance Industry or with those in the industry required; technology/cyber sector or insurance coverage experience highly preferred. Robust background in Cyber & Technology, Privacy and Data Breaches, Libel & Slander, Trademark, Defamation, Media, and Errors & Omissions Professional Liability Claims. Exceptional organizational and time‑management skills with accurate mathematical calculations. Effective collaborative skills in a fast‑paced, team‑centric environment and the ability to present information clearly, insightfully and concisely. Strong interpersonal, presentation, written and verbal communication skills. Critical‑thinking, decision‑making and problem‑solving capabilities. Willingness to travel 10‑15% of the time. Continuing education or preferred professional designations (Registered Professional Liability Underwriter, Certified Information Privacy Professional, Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) are not required but considered a plus.
