Job Title: Speech Therapist (SLP) – Acute Care

Location: Cumming, GA

Facility: Forsyth

Assignment Length: 13 Weeks

Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Weekend Requirement: Minimum 2 weekends per 4 weeks (4 weekends preferred)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a contract position on the Acute Care team in Forsyth. This role supports patients across the hospital based on physician orders, working with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders
  
• Provide care to diverse patient populations including ICU, stroke, neurological, and respiratory cases
  
• Perform bedside swallow evaluations and interventions for dysphagia
  
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
  
• Educate patients and families on therapy goals and progress
  
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
  

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 15–18 months of recent experience within the SLP specialty
  
• Active Georgia Speech-Language Pathology License
  
• CCC-SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence)
  
• Current BLS certification
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior acute care experience strongly preferred
  
• Experience with Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS) and/or Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) is a plus (not required)
