Contract: 14 Weeks – Leave Coverage
Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday | 7:30 AM–6:00 PM
Hours: 40 hours/week
Weekends: No
Holidays: No
On-Call: No
Job Summary
We are seeking a Patient Services Specialist (PSS) to support the front-office operations of a pediatric healthcare clinic in Seattle. The Patient Services Specialist will provide professional and compassionate service to patients and families while handling registration, scheduling, check-in/check-out, insurance information, phone calls, and general administrative duties.
Responsibilities
- Register patients and accurately collect and update demographic and insurance information.
- Perform patient check-in, check-out, and copay collection.
- Schedule, confirm, and modify routine healthcare appointments.
- Support procedural or surgery scheduling as needed.
- Answer and route calls using a multi-line phone system.
- Provide courteous and professional customer service to patients and families.
- Navigate and document information in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Perform scanning, filing, data entry, and other clerical duties.
- Manage wait lists and monitor appointment availability.
- Assist with maintaining efficient scheduling workflows.
- Resolve routine patient and scheduling issues and escalate complex concerns appropriately.
- Support onboarding and training of new team members by demonstrating established workflows.
Requirements
- 1+ year of medical office or related healthcare experience required.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced healthcare or administrative environment.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
- Comfortable using computers, email, word processing, spreadsheets, printers, scanners, and other office equipment.
- Ability to learn and navigate EMR systems and multi-line phone systems.
- Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused approach.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Onsite in West Seattle
- Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
- 7:30 AM–6:00 PM
- 40 hours per week
- No weekends, holidays, or on-call responsibilities
- 14-week contract covering a leave
