Staff Accountant I

As a member of the General Ledger Team, you will join an incredibly talented and hardworking Accounting and Finance department dedicated to maintaining accurate financial records and support informed decision making to advance BakerRipley’s impact in the Houston region.Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant I is responsible for perform various general accounting tasks that are assigned by Senior Accounting Manager, assist Grant Administration, Treasury, Account Payable, Assistant Controller in end-of-period procedures and Audit preparation, among other responsibilities.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESPerform general accounting duties, including daily and month-end journal entries, account reconciliation, and audit preparation.Allocate journal entries (facility occupancy allocation, shared cost allocation.Monthly accrual entries to recognize expenses that have been incurred but not yet recorded in the accounting period (facilities and other fees)Record payments related to WFS-FAPO & record transactions related to book transfers between cash accounts.Review and process journal entries to reclassify transactions as requested.Record interagency transactions accurately and promptly.Assist with other accounting duties and special projects as assigned by supervisor (s).Prepare and monitor responses to the agency's annual audit.Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in accounting, finance, or business administration from an accredited four-year college or university.One to three years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr BAKERRIPLEY
