About the Role:

The Bilingual Medical Assistant plays a critical role in delivering high-quality healthcare services by bridging communication between patients and healthcare providers. This position ensures that patients who speak multiple languages receive clear, compassionate, and accurate medical assistance throughout their care experience. The role involves supporting clinical and administrative tasks, facilitating patient flow, and maintaining accurate medical records while adhering to healthcare regulations. By effectively communicating in at least two languages, the Medical Assistant enhances patient understanding, compliance, and satisfaction. Ultimately, this position contributes to improved health outcomes and a more inclusive healthcare environment within diverse communities.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program.
• Proficiency in English and at least one additional language relevant to the patient population served.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
• Ability to pass a background check and comply with healthcare regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a healthcare setting with diverse patient populations.
• Additional certifications such as CPR or First Aid.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Strong interpersonal and cultural competency skills.
• Post-secondary education in healthcare or related fields.

Responsibilities:

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Perform administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and processing insurance information.
• Communicate effectively with patients in both English and a second language to explain medical instructions, answer questions, and provide emotional support.
• Collect and document patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant health information accurately and confidentially.
• Coordinate with healthcare team members to facilitate smooth patient flow and ensure timely delivery of care.

The required bilingual skills are essential for daily communication with patients who have limited English proficiency, ensuring they understand medical instructions and feel supported. Medical knowledge and clinical skills enable the assistant to competently perform patient care tasks and assist healthcare providers efficiently.
