Medical Customer Service Representative

Addison Group is partnering with a healthcare organization seeking compassionate and customer-focused Medical Customer Service Representative to assist patients with Medicaid eligibility, enrollment, and renewal processes. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys helping others, is comfortable on the phone, and wants to make a meaningful impact by connecting patients with healthcare coverage.

The Medical Customer Service Representative will assist patients through the Medicaid enrollment and renewal process by handling inbound and outbound calls, verifying eligibility information, and guiding patients through application requirements. This role combines customer service, healthcare knowledge, and administrative support in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist patients with new Medicaid applications, renewals, and re-enrollment.
  • Conduct outbound calls to patients regarding enrollment status and upcoming Medicaid expirations.
  • Respond to inbound calls from patients with questions about Medicaid eligibility and enrollment.
  • Verify and update patient demographic and financial information, including household size, income, citizenship status, and date of birth.
  • Assist patients with resetting Medicaid account information and navigating enrollment issues.
  • Accurately document all patient interactions within the EMR system.
  • Educate patients on available Medicaid benefits and encourage eligible individuals to complete the enrollment process.
  • Coordinate with Medicaid representatives and patients to help resolve enrollment issues.
  • Maintain accurate records while providing exceptional customer service.

Requirements include:

  • Recent healthcare customer service, receptionist, patient access, insurance verification, Medicaid enrollment, or patient financial services experience required.
  • Comfortable handling a high volume of inbound and outbound phone calls.
  • Understanding of health insurance, Medicaid, insurance verification, or authorizations.
  • Experience working with EMR systems and entering patient information accurately.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
  • Comfortable discussing sensitive financial and personal information with patients.

Additional details include:

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Work Model: Fully onsite
  • Assignment Type: Contract
  • Environment: Patient financial services/call center with occasional patient interaction
  • Start Date: ASAP
