Senior Development Manager, Affordable Housing

Job Summary Macdonald & Company is partnered with an active affordable housing developer expanding its development team to support a growing California pipeline.This is a hands-on role for someone who can take full ownership of projects from predevelopment through completion: financing, entitlements, construction, and handoff to asset management.The RoleThis individual will manage 2-3 projects at a time across the full development lifecycle, including:Developing project financing plans, including LIHTC, soft debt, project-based vouchers, and other layered capital sourcesNavigating entitlements and coordinating with municipalities, agencies, and housing authoritiesRunning due diligence and reviewing loan documents, partnership agreements, and regulatory complianceManaging the construction process in coordination with an in-house general contractorCoordinating with housing authorities and transitioning completed projects to asset managementMaintaining project schedules, budgets, and timely reporting to leadershipPlatform OverviewGround-up affordable housing developments across California, with active concentration in Riverside County, Orange County, and Santa BarbaraProjects typically range from 80 to 200+ units, often developed in multiple phasesIn-house general contractor, third-party property management, and a lean development team with direct exposure to ownership
