Job Title: Patient Access Representative Job Description Responsibilities Ensure all required financial and demographic information is secured. Monitor, follow-up, and research assigned patient accounts to maintain accurate records. Provide courteous and professional customer service. Review erroneous claims and research commercial guidelines for corrections and adjustments. Respond to patient and insurance company complaints, analyze charges and billing errors. Contact clinical departments to resolve claim issues and ensure claim integrity. Provide updates to management regarding errors, payer issues, and registration problems. Maintain active knowledge of governmental regulations for claims submission. Implement governmental billing changes such as Medicare OPPS. Research governmental requirements for claims submission. Collect balances owed from third‑party payers in accordance with laws. Maintain knowledge of billing and reimbursement requirements by payer. Stay updated on revised billing and reimbursement practices to ensure compliance. Essential Skills Proficiency in EMR systems, such as Cerner. Medical Assistant certification. Knowledge of phlebotomy and catheter procedures. Billing and insurance reimbursement expertise. Additional Skills & Qualifications Minimum of two years’ experience in billing, collections, and reimbursement verification for government or commercial insurances. Knowledge of hospital accounts receivable accounts. College education, insurance company claims experience, or healthcare billing experience may substitute for hospital experience. Work Environment This position is onsite at a Level One Trauma Hospital. The clinic works half days on Fridays, offering an attractive work schedule. The role includes annual salary increases, enhancing the overall benefits package. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
