Events Planner

Events PlannerLocation: Remote Pay Range: $32/hr. Duration: 6 MonthsResponsibilities:Plan and execute events that support the goals of the enterprise. Ensure successful execution of events from start to post-event evaluations.Plans and executes events, such as marketing and sales conferences, trade shows, and customer-related eventsDirects logistics, including registration and attendee tracking, presentation and materials support, and pre- and post-event evaluationsProcures vendor servicesWorks with facility, exhibit set-up, equipment, and catering requirementsProvides on-site event supportResearches potential event locations and evaluates alternativesPrepares and tracks budgets, provides periodic progress reports for each event projectConducts post-event evaluations to determine how future events could be improved uponRegularly exercises discretion and independent judgment in the performance of his/her job dutiesQualifications:Typically has the following skills or abilities:2+ years in an event planner-oriented positionKeen attention to detail and follow up / follow through are a must for this positionProficiency in Excel, PPT, Microsoft OfficeExperience in budgeting and planningExperience managing all phases of multiple projects simultaneously, and adjusting to continuously changing responsibilities and prioritiesExcellent communications skillsMust be available to travel as neededPreferred Qualifications:Strategic event planning, logistics, executionExperience working with associations and event groups is a plusExperience working with vendors and third-party event groups for event execution (booth builds, labor, etc.)Healthcare or optical industry is a plusEvent sponsorship awareness and experience (mainly executing on sponsorship opportunities like booth space, branding, etc.)Software/Tools: Asana, Microsoft suite, SharePointStellar organizational skills, expense tracking, event processes, etc.Collaborative and able to confidently lead calls with key contacts and give updates and directionEducation:Bachelor's degree in marketing, hospitality, or related field or equivalent experienceBenefits Summary: Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
