Job Description

The packaging manager is responsible for increasing customer trust and loyalty by offering a precise, fast, and courteous checkout process. This person effectively packages customer purchases and streamlines the checkout to vehicle flow.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide continuous attention to customer needs; greet, assist, and thank customers in a prompt, courteous, and friendly manner.
• Help customers unload purchases on the conveyor belt at checkout. Package customer purchases in a way that prevents damage, carry or push groceries in a shopping cart to the customers vehicle, and load groceries into the vehicle.
• Verify the price of merchandise in all departments as needed.
• Restock and utilize supply items efficiently to eliminate waste and keep supply costs low.
• Place discarded or returned merchandise. Collect shopping carts from the parking lot and other areas and return them to the designated area.
• Maintain the work area clean, orderly, and free of safety hazards; report to management about defective equipment and hazards.
• Notify management about associate thefts, customer thefts, unauthorized discounts, property defacement, or any action that is illegal and/or against company policy. Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum

• Meet legal and company policy requirements regarding age for performing job functions.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
• Authorization to work in the United States or ability to obtain it.
• Pre-employment and background verification checks.

Machines, tools, equipment, etc. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee will use knives, box cutter, wrapper, scale, pineapple corer, order machine, storage cart, unilift, reddi shelves, pallet jack, unicarts, scooters, double-decker trucks, conveyors, conveyor stands, compactors, chillers, ice machines, price gun, box opener, packer, and cleaning supplies and equipment.
