Construction Estimator / Project Manager

Experience Required

3+ years of experience in residential construction, remodeling, or general contracting, including hands-on estimating and project management. Familiarity with estimation software and the ability to read plans and prepare accurate bids.

Minimum Education Required

High School Diploma/G.E.D.

Education Or Experience Substitution

Relevant construction and project management experience may be substituted for formal education.

License(s) Required

Valid driver's license required. Construction-related certifications (e.g., OSHA 10/30) a plus.

Training Required/Provided

On-the-job training and software/process onboarding provided. Ongoing professional development supported.

Job Description

Handy Manny's LLC, a residential remodeling and general contracting company serving the Greater Lexington area, is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator / Project Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will review incoming job opportunities, perform site walkthroughs, and prepare accurate, competitive bids for home improvement, renovation, and remodeling projects. You will also manage active projects from start to finish—coordinating crews and subcontractors, ordering materials, tracking budgets and timelines, and serving as the main point of contact for homeowners to ensure each job is completed on time, on budget, and to our high quality standards.

Key responsibilities include: reviewing plans and project scopes; measuring and taking off quantities; preparing detailed cost estimates and proposals; sourcing and comparing material and subcontractor pricing; scheduling and supervising work; maintaining clear communication with clients and the team; and helping identify and win new business.

The ideal candidate has hands-on construction and remodeling knowledge, strong organizational and communication skills, comfort with estimation software and technology, and a customer-focused, problem-solving mindset.
