SoHo Grand Hotel is hiring for a Bell Person Position in SoHo, New York City. Base pay starts at $17/hr.
Since its inception in 1996, Soho Grand has epitomized the industrial elegance that defines SoHo. From its bottle-glass staircase to its majestic masonry columns – it is the grand design that intertwines the factories and lofts that flourished in SoHo in the 1970s with the 1870s Gilded Age. Soho Grand is a collection of love notes to one of New York's greatest neighborhoods, and a living museum filled with art and artifacts that showcase SoHo's rich architectural history. As Manhattan's first luxury Downtown boutique hotel, it is often said that Soho Grand brought the neighborhood inside.
Job Description
The Soho Grand Hotel is looking for a Guest Service Provider to join their team! The Soho Grand Hotel is looking for a friendly, outgoing, customer service professional to join our team. The Guest Service Provider candidate will be able to perform both doorman and bellman responsibilities. Evening and overnight shifts required. Essential Functions:
- Assist guests with luggage storage and retrieval
- Bring guests to and from guest rooms; explain all hotel functions, services and amenities
- Ensure guests' satisfaction
- Deliver and pick up guests' luggage
- Deliver and pick up guests' packages
- Assist guest room moves to alternate accommodations/rooms
- Deliver sundry items (forgotten items, etc.)
- Maintain clean work environment throughout the lobby
- Practice Service Recovery
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Open availability, including overnight shifts, weekends and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs as the job requires handling guest luggage
- Strong customer service and knowledge of the Downtown Tribeca/Soho neighborhoods
- Team player with great attitude.
- Comfortable with standing for long periods of time while outside
