Position: Engineer I Location: 900 Old Augusta Central Rd, Rincon GA 31326 Duration: 9 Months +
Client: Southern Company Services Job Summary Southern Company Services is seeking an Engineer I to support engineering design, construction, and maintenance activities for power generation projects. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or engineers with 0-5 years of experience who are looking to build a career in the utility or heavy industrial industry. The Engineer I will assist with engineering design, construction packages, material estimates, CAD drawings, and field support while working closely with plant personnel, contractors, and engineering teams. Key Responsibilities
• Support the design and construction of power generation systems.
• Prepare engineering estimates, construction packages, and technical specifications.
• Develop engineering design options using applicable software tools.
• Perform field walkdowns and mark up mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Create and update mechanical P&IDs using CAD software.
• Review contractor designs and support quality assurance activities.
• Assist construction and maintenance teams during project execution.
• Estimate project materials and support engineering documentation.
• Follow Southern Company engineering standards and industry best practices.
• Maintain a strong commitment to safety and quality. Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
• 0-5 years of engineering experience.
• Experience in Power Generation, Heavy Industrial, or similar industrial environments.
• Experience performing field walkdowns and marking up mechanical drawings.
• CAD experience, including updating mechanical P&IDs.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with engineering teams, plant personnel, and contractors.
• Must be local to the Rincon, GA area or willing to relocate at personal expense. Preferred Skills
