Civil Litigation Defense Attorney - Fully Remote (Michigan NoFault / Insurance Defense)


I am partnering with a well-regarded civil litigation firm that is seeking a Civil Litigation Defense Attorney for a fully remote position. This is an excellent opportunity for a defense-side litigator who wants meaningful file ownership, sophisticated work, and true flexibility while remaining anchored to a reputable, trial-tested team. The firm is looking for an attorney with experience in civil litigation defense, with a strong preference for backgrounds in commercial/trucking and transportation matters, insurance defense (including first- and third-party nofault/PIP), subrogation, general negligence, and/or personal injury defense.

The salary for this role will be market-competitive and commensurate with experience, with generous performance-based bonuses.


What We Need

  Solid civil litigation defense experience in one or more of the following:

    Commercial/trucking and transportation matters (auto, motor carrier, and related nofault issues)
    
    
  • p]:pt-0 [&> p]:mb-2 [&> p]:my-0">
    Insurance defense, including firstparty PIP / Michigan nofault and thirdparty auto liability
    
    
  • p]:pt-0 [&> p]:mb-2 [&> p]:my-0">
    Subrogation and recovery actions arising out of auto/nofault and other covered losses
    
    
  • p]:pt-0 [&> p]:mb-2 [&> p]:my-0">
    General negligence and personal injury defense (auto, premises, and related tort matters)
    
    
• p]:pt-0 [&> p]:mb-2 [&> p]:my-0">
  Experience managing files from initial pleadings through discovery, motion practice, and resolution (trial experience is a plus but not required)

  Strong written advocacy skills (motions, briefs, discovery responses) and confident oral communication for hearings and depositions

  Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while remaining responsive to clients, colleagues, and deadlines

  Licensed in Michigan (MI) and in good standing
