Duties

• Serve as the primary contact for incoming patient referrals via phone, email, and online portals, providing excellent customer service and clear communication.
• Gather and verify patient information, including insurance details, medical history, and current health status, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
• Utilize electronic health records (EHR) and patient management software to document intake details accurately and efficiently.
• Coordinate with healthcare providers to schedule initial assessments and ensure all necessary documentation complies with health regulation policies.
• Maintain thorough records of all communications, appointments, and documentation related to each patient's intake process.
• Assist with verifying insurance coverage, explaining benefits to patients, and addressing any billing or authorization questions.
• Support the team by managing office tasks such as typing reports, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information, and ensuring compliance with health regulations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare administrative support role.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with medical office software such as EMR/EHR systems.
• Knowledge of health regulation policies related to home health services and patient privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA).
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly via phone and client communication channels.
• Familiarity with health insurance processes, billing procedures, and client management software.
• Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining high levels of accuracy through typing and data entry tasks.
• Previous experience in dental or medical office environments is a plus; familiarity with medical terminology is highly desirable.
