Inventory Clerk (Diego Beekman)

About the opportunity

Diego Beekman Mutual Housing Association is seeking a thorough and attentive Inventory Clerk to join our team at Diego Beekman, a 1,200-unit multi-family property in the Bronx, NY.

In this role, you’ll manage inventory, ordering, receiving, and materials while partnering with vendors, maintenance teams, and property management. The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, and skilled at maintaining accurate inventory, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring supplies and equipment are available when needed.

The salary range offered for this role is $26.00-$29.00 per hour. Additionally, the selected candidate will typically work: Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Responsibilities:

• Manage inventory control and accuracy by maintaining organized inventory records, conducting weekly counts, location surveys, audits, and promptly reporting discrepancies.
• Coordinate purchasing and inventory replenishment by accurately submitting supply and material requests, processing purchase orders in Yardi, tracking PO information, forecasting parts needs.
• Receive and inspect incoming deliveries to verify purchase orders, line numbers, quantities, product quality, and condition; document receipts, address damaged or missing items, and follow up on backorders, substitutions, and returns.
• Maintain organized and compliant inventory locations by preparing storage areas for incoming shipments, properly labeling and storing materials, supplies, tools, and equipment, maintaining safety data sheets, and supporting upkeep of the safety center.
• Coordinate with vendors, management, and maintenance teams to communicate shortages and delivery changes, support timely and cost-effective purchasing, verify accurate parts pickup, and provide access to resident files when required.
• Oversee tools, equipment, and supply distribution by maintaining sign-in/sign-out records, coordinating repairs and preventive maintenance, and using company vehicles as needed to deliver supplies or complete emergency pickups.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of progressive experience in a fast‑paced operational environment.
• Proficiency with Yardi and Microsoft Office specifically Excel.
• Experience in warehouse operations, receiving, storing, and distributing materials.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret inventory data and identify discrepancies.
• Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong work ethic, dependability, and professional demeanor.
