Position Description:

The Senior Paralegal in the real estate and rental leasing industry plays a critical role in supporting legal teams by managing complex documentation and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This position involves conducting thorough legal research, preparing and reviewing contracts, leases, and other legal documents to facilitate smooth real estate transactions. The Senior Paralegal acts as a liaison between attorneys, clients, and external parties, ensuring timely communication and resolution of legal matters. They are responsible for maintaining organized case files and managing deadlines to support litigation or transactional processes effectively. Ultimately, this role ensures that all legal aspects of real estate and leasing operations are handled with precision, minimizing risk and promoting successful business outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 10 years of paralegal experience, with at least 5 years focused on real estate law or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of real estate transactions, leasing agreements, and property law.
• Proficiency in legal research tools and document management software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in the real estate and rental leasing industry.
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal real estate regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Advanced paralegal certification such as NALA’s Certified Paralegal (CP) or equivalent.
• Experience with litigation support and trial preparation in real estate disputes.
• Proficiency in specialized real estate software and contract management systems.

Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and manage real estate contracts, leases, purchase agreements, and related legal documents.
• Conduct detailed legal research on property laws, zoning regulations, and compliance requirements relevant to real estate transactions.
• Coordinate with attorneys, clients, title companies, and government agencies to facilitate due diligence and closing processes.
• Maintain and organize case files, track deadlines, and manage document filing systems to ensure efficient workflow.
• Assist in preparing materials for litigation, including discovery, pleadings, and trial preparation when necessary.
• Monitor changes in real estate laws and regulations to advise legal teams and update documentation accordingly.
• Provide training and guidance to junior paralegals and administrative staff within the legal department.
