Payroll Specialist

Payroll SpecialistSouthern Careers Institute (SCI) is seeking a knowledgeable Payroll Specialist to process and manage the company's payroll. This position offers a competitive base salary plus incentive compensation.Responsibilities include:Compile payroll data such as hours worked, sales or piecework, taxes, and insurance to be withheld, and employee identification number, from time sheets and other records;Prepare computer input forms, enter data into computer files, or compute wages and deductions and post to payroll records;Review wages computed and correct errors to ensure accuracy of payroll;Record changes affecting net wages such as exemptions, insurance coverage, and loan payments for each employee to update master payroll records;Prepare and issue paychecks;Review and approve payroll deductions;Interpret company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures;Coordinate employee benefits enrollment and deductions with HR benefits coordinator;Ensure ongoing coordination with HR to properly capture correct pay for New Hires and Terminations.Qualifications:A Bachelor's degree in a related field or 2-3 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience;Strong knowledge of Payroll, HR, Benefits management systems – Ceridian / Dayforce preferred.Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite; specifically Excel and its advanced functions;Strong interpersonal and customer service skills;Strong verbal communication, written communication, listening, record keeping and information management.Benefits:Training & Development Fun & Energetic, Family-Based EnvironmentContinuous Growth OpportunitiesMedical, Dental, & Vision OptionsHealth Savings & Flexible Spending Options (HSA & FSA)Basic Life & Accident InsuranceShort & Long-term Disability401K Retirement PlanSCI is an Equal Opportunity employer.About Southern Careers Institute:SCI has been changing lives for over 60 years, now and we're just getting started.
