Description

American Traveler is hiring a PreOp/Same Day PACU Registered Nurse with at least one year of acute care experience and an active CA RN license for a day shift assignment.

Details

• Work in the PreOp/Same Day PACU unit of a hospital setting
• Provide pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients including cardiac, ENT, general, gyn, ophthalmology, ortho, and urology cases
• Perform cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition/management
• Administer medications including narcotics/opioid analgesics and reversal agents
• Support various anesthesia types including conscious sedation, general, local, MAC, nerve blocks, and spinal
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in-hand at time of application (EMSA not accepted)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• BSN required
• Minimum of 1 year of acute care nursing experience
• At least 1 year of full-time equivalent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years
• Epic EMR experience required and must be documented in work history
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with pre/post-op patient care, discharge instructions, and medication reconciliation
• Ability to obtain operative/procedural consent and review patient history and physicals
• Two supervisor references required at time of application

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include pre-op assessment, patient education, administering pre-op medications, and post-op follow-up calls
• Perform pain assessment and management along with isolation precautions/PPE protocols
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Previous employees must have a break in service of at least 1 year to be eligible to return as a travel nurse
• No RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract is highly preferred
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront and cannot be changed once the profile is submitted for manager review
• Manager interview may or may not be required
