Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a growing healthcare organization in Peekskill, NY . This role will support the CFO in managing core accounting functions, including month-end close, financial reporting, and compliance.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting within a medical, healthcare, or professional services environment and enjoys working cross-functionally to support accurate financial operations.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a growing healthcare organization in Peekskill, NY . This role will support the CFO in managing core accounting functions, including month-end close, financial reporting, and compliance.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting within a medical, healthcare, or professional services environment and enjoys working cross-functionally to support accurate financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements, including the balance sheet and income statement
- Manage month-end close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals
- Analyze revenue, expenses, and departmental budgets to support financial decision-making
- Support billing and revenue cycle accounting, including coordination with billing teams
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and healthcare-related financial regulations
- Partner with operations and department leaders to monitor financial performance and variances
- Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation to external auditors
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and support account reconciliations
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 5-8+ years of accounting experience, preferably within healthcare, medical practice, or professional services
- Experience with general ledger, financial reporting, and month-end close
- Familiarity with healthcare billing or revenue cycle processes is a plus
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems (NetSuite, Oracle, or similar)
- Strong Excel skills
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and communication skills
