Project Manager (Electrical / Mechanical Engineering Background)

Location: Northbrook, IL
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 annually

Express Employment Professionals has partnered with a valued client in the Northbrook area to fill a Project Manager position. We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused professional with a background in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field to oversee projects from initial client engagement through successful completion.

This role serves as a key liaison between clients and internal teams, ensuring project requirements are clearly defined, accurately costed, effectively communicated, and executed on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Gather and document business and technical requirements from clients.
Develop project scope, pricing, and cost estimates.
Prepare detailed project descriptions and supporting documentation for the Inside Sales team.
Coordinate project activities from initiation through completion.
Collaborate with internal departments to ensure projects remain on track and milestones are met.
Serve as the primary point of contact between clients and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Provide project status updates and maintain accurate project records.
Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and to client expectations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
Previous experience in project management within engineering, manufacturing, automation, industrial, or technical environments.
Experience preparing project estimates, pricing, and costing.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
