We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join a growing organization in Albany, New York on a Contract basis. This role supports core accounting operations for a company focused on powering advanced computing workloads through renewable energy infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring strong month-end close experience, confidence working across general ledger activities, and the ability to contribute in a fast-moving environment that values practical use of AI tools. This position follows a hybrid schedule with regular on-site presence in Albany, New York.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate and timely financial records.
• Manage invoice processing and support billing activities, including customer invoicing and related reporting.
• Record accruals and maintain amortization schedules to ensure proper period-end accounting treatment.
• Assist with month-end close by reconciling accounts, reviewing balances, and helping deliver complete financial results on schedule.
• Support general ledger accuracy through ongoing analysis, documentation, and correction of accounting variances.
• Contribute to financial reporting needs and provide audit support by organizing schedules and responding to documentation requests.
• Use AI-enabled tools where appropriate to improve efficiency, streamline workflows, and support day-to-day accounting tasks.
• Partner with finance leadership during onboarding and cross-training to ensure continuity during the contract assignment.• Hands-on experience with month-end close and general ledger accounting in a corporate finance or accounting environment.
• Proven ability to prepare journal entries, handle accruals, and manage amortization schedules with a high level of accuracy.
• Background in invoicing, customer billing support, and financial reporting processes.
• Experience assisting with financial statement audits and maintaining supporting documentation.
• Familiarity with NetSuite is strongly preferred; candidates with similar ERP systems may also be considered.
• Comfort working in an AI-forward environment and openness to integrating technology into daily accounting work.
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule with at least 2 days per week on-site in Albany, New York, with flexibility for additional in-person collaboration as needed.
