About the Position

Title: Cardiac Cath Tech

Location: Charlotte North Carolina 28203

Duration: 16 Weeks

Shift: 10hr Day Shift - 40

Shift Information: 0730-1800

Clinical Interviewing- Yes - Manager to conduct final interview.

On Call, Call Back Requirements: Yes

Weekend Rotation: 4-5 weeks

Holiday Requirements: Travelers will do at least one holiday in a contract if applicable

• 874 Licensed beds
• Level I Trauma
• Teaching Hospital
• Chest Pain Center
• Stroke Center
• Magnet Designated
• Radius rule: Traveler s permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit

Unit Information: Beds: 4 cardiac rooms and 3 vascular rooms

Minimum Years of Experience required: at least 1 year of Cath Lab experience

Will you accept a first-time traveler: Yes

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

• Cardiac cases: NON-STEMI, STEMI, TAVR, Watchman, Mitral Clip
• Vascular cases: Mostly lower extremity angiograms and EVAR and TEVAR cases

Required License, National Certification, Certs: Cardiac Cath Tech: BLS, ACLS, ARRT-R or RCIS
Skills required:

• Cardiac Cath Tech:
• Required : Cath Lab experience; MUST have peripheral angiogram/run-off experience. Prefer experience with endografts, EVARs, TEVARS, etc. If no experience with those, MUST be willing to be taught here. Please send for manager approval if missing this experience
• Preferred: highly prefer experience in IR or in a lab working with vascular surgeons

• Traffic flow coordinator/Runs add on scheduling and staffing

• RT for emergencies
• ECMO team
• Code team

Technology/Equipment:

• EMR: EPIC
• Hemodynamic: Merge Hemo
• IV Pump: Alaris
• Med dispensing: Omnicell
• Monitors: Philips
• Xray equipment: Philips, Client, and Siemens
• PACs: ISCV
• Manifold

Orientation (facility and unit):

• 1 week before on call
• 2 days departmental
• Ace modules
• EPIC test and modules

Scheduling :

• Weekend rotation: discussed during interview
• On call:
  • Vascular: two weekends every month and two weekdays of call.
  • Response time 1 hour
  • Cardiac: one call night every week and every 5th weekend
  • Response time 30 minutes
  • Cover both in interview; manager will go further into call and which one they ll cover in 2nd interview
• Holiday Expectations: Travelers will do at least one holiday in a contract if applicable
• RTO: Manager approval
• Shift times: 0730-1800 (4 (10) hour shifts)
• Schedule cycle: every 4 weeks
• Travelers cover each other s RTO, so could be extra call in events of RTO
