Job Details Job Location: Trenton - ST LOUIS, MO 63132 Job Category: Purchasing - Procurement Job Overview Responsible for direct sourcing and procurement of raw materials, components, supplies and services within a manufacturing environment. While working closely with internal departments including production planning, finance and logistics to ensure product sourcing, on-time deliveries and resolution of variances and supplier issues. Duties & Responsibilities Strategic sourcing, purchasing and maintaining of raw materials and stock items Overseeing special projects including government contracts as assigned Collaborate with internal departments including production, finance and logistics to ensure on-time delivery and project deadlines Support the development of long-term relationships with company approved vendors Participate in supplier negotiations and contract review Analyze supplier lead times, minimum order quantities and make recommendations for cost efficiencies Generate purchasing orders and update supplier pricing Participate in supplier scorecard evaluations, feedback and corrective action conversations Other duties as assigned Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; bend, push or pull. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to operate a computer, keyboard, telephone, headset, and other office equipment Lifting up to and between 10-35 lbs Skills & Qualifications High School diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s Degree or Certification preferred, preferably in business, supply chain management, or related field 2 years relative experience in procurement/purchasing within a manufacturing environment required, 2-5 years preferred Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and ERP software (Microsoft Dynamics 365, specifically Business Central a plus) Strong ability to communicate and negotiate with vendors and across departments Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Willingness to learn and grow within the purchasing function Familiarity with inventory management systems Analytical mindset and problem-solving ability Supervisor Requirements None Work Environment Office and chemical, liquid and aerosol manufacturing environment Travel between two locations infrequently but maybe necessary This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position.
