Staff Accountant

Our client is a leading investment organization is seeking an experienced Investment Staff Accountant to support accounting, reporting, and operational activities related to a diverse investment portfolio. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounting processes, supporting reporting requirements, and assisting with various investment-related projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced in accounting operations, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with investment, finance, and operational teams while gaining exposure to complex accounting activities. Essential Functions Manage the bi-monthly accounts payable process, including invoice review, coding, approvals, and payment preparation in accordance with contracts, budgets, and internal policies. Ensure expenses are properly documented, approved, and aligned with established budgets and commitments. Communicate with vendors regarding invoicing requirements, billing timelines, and payment processes. Maintain accounting records for investment assets and debt portfolios. Prepare bank reconciliations, journal entries, and monthly accounting uploads for operational activity. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and account tie-outs to supporting schedules and sub-ledgers. Assist with lender reporting, compliance reporting, and investment-related financial reporting. Support CAM reconciliation processes as applicable. Prepare interest invoices and related documentation for debt investments. Assist with cash management activities, including wire transfer preparation, supporting documentation, and approval coordination. Cash activity reports Reporting calendars Support tax compliance activities, including year-end 1099 preparation and documentation organization. Assist with external audit requests by providing financial records, supporting documentation, check registers, and other requested materials. Review construction draws and payment requests for completeness, authorization, and required documentation. Prepare and distribute monthly and ad hoc intercompany or related-party billings. Coordinate insurance-related invoice processing and follow up on outstanding payments when needed. Assist with additional accounting projects and operational initiatives as assigned. Required Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required. 3–5 years of accounting experience. Strong accounts payable experience preferred. Experience with real estate accounting, investment accounting, or development cost accounting is a plus. Experience with Timberline or similar accounting software preferred. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and complex formulas. #J-18808-Ljbffr
