Medical Assistant Pain Management

Job Description A Medical Assistant is accountable for providing care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting. This will involve caring for patients with acute and chronic needs. Responsibilities include communicating effectively with patients seeking care through telephone and in-person interactions, assisting providers to gather patient information under the clinician’s direction, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality care. Shift Details Full‑Time (40 hrs/wk – Monday to Friday 8 AM to 5 PM) Unit and Location St George Pain Management Clinic Minimum Qualifications This position requires one of the following: Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program or at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience or a current active and in‑good‑standing RN/LPN license to practice nursing in the state of Utah Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers, obtained prior to start date Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of patient satisfaction Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) of patients, members, and caregivers Utah only: If certified with less than one year of MA experience, caregivers may attend a yearlong MA residency program Preferred Qualifications Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting Computer literacy in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other relevant software Current national MA certification from one of the following: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) of AMT, National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) of the AAMA Location Details Intermountain Health St George Regional Hospital, Washington Fields Clinic Work City: St George Work State: Utah Hours and Compensation Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Hourly Rate: $19.87 – $28.31 (actual rate dependent upon experience) Benefits We provide a generous benefits package that supports mind, body, and spirit, fostering a sustainable culture of wellness.
